SCENE 01 — WHY

Why coverage hits different for hair, makeup & costume.

POINT 01

Long days, chemicals, repetitive strain

Lacquer fumes, dyes, hot tools, hand-stitching — the cumulative wear is real. Plans we recommend include strong dermatology, allergy, and orthopedic networks.

POINT 02

Family + dependent coverage that scales

If your spouse or kids need coverage too, ACA plans let you cover everyone on one policy with subsidies based on household income.

POINT 03

Schedule C deductions on premiums and kit

Filing 1099 income? Premiums are generally deductible above the line, and we'll point you to a CPA who knows production write-offs for kit, supplies, and continuing education.

POINT 04

Coverage that follows you to fittings & runway

Splitting time between film/TV and fashion week? National PPO networks honor in-network rates across cities, so a New York fitting doesn't blow your deductible math.

SCENE 03 — STORIES

From the set, in their words.

"Steady ACA coverage even when projects stalled. The PPO travels with me to every state I shoot in — it just works."

SCENE 05 — FAQ

Set FAQs.

SCENE 01
I'm 1099 with multiple production employers in a year — what coverage works?
ACA marketplace coverage doesn't care how many 1099s you receive. It only cares about projected annual income, which determines your subsidy. We help you project it correctly.
SCENE 02
Does dermatology really matter in plan choice?
If you're handling chemicals and adhesives all day, yes. We can filter for plans with strong dermatology networks in your city and check that your existing derm is in-network before you enroll.
SCENE 03
Can I deduct my kit on the same return as my premiums?
Yes — kit and supplies are typically deductible as business expenses on Schedule C, while premiums are deducted above the line. Different lines, both legitimate. We'll point you to a production-savvy CPA.
SCENE 04
What about Local 706 / 829 union health?
If you qualify, union health is usually the better deal. Most artists pair union health with an ACA plan to bridge non-qualifying quarters. We model both.
