SCENE 01 — WHY

Why coverage hits different for sound department.

POINT 01

Audiology matters more than most pros realize

Years on a boom or behind a desk add up. We filter for plans with explicit hearing benefits and audiology networks — not all marketplace plans handle this well.

POINT 02

Post sound is sedentary. Cover the spine work.

Long mix sessions and editorial weeks wear on backs and necks. PT, chiropractic, and orthopedic networks matter — we screen for them.

POINT 03

Variable booking income works with ACA subsidies

Subsidies scale with projected annual income, which is built for the way sound mixers actually get paid. We re-project mid-year if booking volume changes.

POINT 04

Telehealth = no day off the mix stage

Plans with strong telehealth let you handle routine care between picture lock and mix passes without losing a session day.

SCENE 03 — STORIES

SCENE 05 — FAQ

Set FAQs.

SCENE 01
Are hearing aids ever covered on the marketplace?
Coverage varies by state and plan. Some marketplace plans cover hearing aids in part, others not at all. We screen for the strongest hearing coverage in your state when audiology is a priority.
SCENE 02
Local 695 / Local 700 union health — primary or secondary?
If you qualify, union health is usually primary. ACA fills non-qualifying quarters or supplements with family coverage when union plans skew toward the worker only.
SCENE 03
I'm 1099 for post work. ACA premium deductible?
Generally yes, above the line on Schedule C as self-employed health insurance. We model net premium after deduction.
SCENE 04
Plans with strong telehealth?
Most modern marketplace plans bundle telehealth, but quality varies wildly. We can flag plans where telehealth is a real benefit, not a vestigial line item.
